2023-01-05: Physics Rework


This major update introduces a rework of the game’s physics simulation using Chipmunk2D. This will allow for a smoother, more realistic feel to the way objects move around in the game world.

Many other additions, changes and bug fixes are included with this update. Refer to the full changelog for details.

    • Integration with the Chipmunk2D physics system.
    • Stun mechanic. NPCs can now be stunned via modded weapons and by using certain abilities.
    • Furniture collision logic.
    • Stun munitions weapon mod for the AK47 and Auto Shotgun.
    • Restore defaults button in settings menu.

    • Positioning of the main HUD panel at the bottom of the screen.
    • Activation keys are now displayed below their respective ability icons in the main HUD panel.

    • Grenade bounding boxes should now represent their exact size.
    • Issue that would prevent the minimap from being rebuilt correctly when changing between maps of different sizes.
    • Crash that would occur when certain types of NPCs were killed in obscure situations.
    • Performance issues relating to the creation and display of decals.
    • Issues with text formatting in certain situations.

Zombie Onslaught


  • Added
    • Black Hole ability. The Black Hole ability sucks in everything around it at high speeds and will also stun any enemies within it’s radius.
    • Radial Bombardment ability. The radial bombardment ability sends out a barrage of bombs around the player’s current position.
    • Pushback ability has been renamed to Impulse. Additionally, the ability has been reworked to push away nearby enemies and objects. Any enemies that it pushes will be stunned.
    • Functionality for choosing the placement of certain abilities. Abilities that are placeable (for example, Vortex), will now display a placement circle when activated. The circle will change colors depending on if the placement is valid or invalid, which will typically be determined by the distance from the player. When a placement is valid, the ability can be activated by pressing the left mouse button.
    • New sports car texture.
  • Changed
    • Improvements to the way that vehicles block NPCs paths.
    • Improvements to the positioning of vehicles.
    • Improvements to zombie collision logic.
    • Army barriers now block projectiles and NPC vision. This means that soldiers will now generally only shoot at the player and other NPCs when they are within the boundaries of the army base.
  • Removed
    • Craftable barriers.

Editor


  • Added
    • Coastline tool to map editor.
  • Changed
    • The look of the selections box.
    • Furniture can no longer be placed on top of walls or other furniture.
